I’m not currently working on any frescoes, but you might be surprised to learn that the base for frescoes, ie the wet plaster it’s painted onto, is the same material that you’ll find in any old house. Actually, the materials for plaster are the same as a lot of masonry mortars too, it’s only the proportions that really make them different. And in frescoes those proportions have to be exactly right. Take a gander at the video below and see what I mean. Also, lets all just agree that Nova was the best TV show of all time . Period.
