Wall Mural Relocation

Blind Eye Restoration was hired by Geometry Global in 2019 to design and execute a plan to relocate a mural from their old office in Akron, OH to their new Cleveland location. Geometry commissioned the piece by local artist Kirk Mangus in the early 2000's with a theme of "shoppers" to match their online marketplace commerce brand. The Mangus Mural is particularly unique to the artist because he is more well known for his pottery and ceramic artwork.
So, the Blind Eye team began by carefully demolishing the surrounding wall area and removing the mural with the metal framing still attached to structurally support each section during transport. Then the pieces were safely transported to Cleveland, where the new wall location was prepared by cutting out drywall sections sized to fit the mural sections as they had been collected. The removal and installation of the mural pieces took less than 48 hours. Then after the initial installment of the mural, drywall and paint touch ups were done around the mural to visually blend the mural pieces with the new wall, and create the impression that it had been there all along.
