The Douglas Hotel is a historic landmark building right on the square in downtown Urbana, Ohio. The building was purchased by a developer to turn into affordable housing apartments for the elderly. It was restored with the help of historic tax credits, which is where the Blind Eye Team came in. We restored over 100 wood windows, built 30 new wood windows to replicate some that had been lost, and restored the historic storefront on the square which included the decorative sheet metal cornices, monumental storefront glass and bulkheads, and 4 sets of historic entry doors and transoms.
